About the Author
John Terrill is the first full-time Director for the Center for Integrity in Business at the School of Business and Economics at Seattle Pacific University. The mission of the Center for Integrity in Business includes research and advocacy around a philosophy that understands the purpose of business as service to the community. Specifically, the Center coordinates research into alternate models of ethical and theologically-grounded business practices, and engages with the business, non-profit and academic communities in shared work around such models.
Prior to joining the Center, John served as the National Director for Professional Schools Ministries with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, as well as the National Director for MBA Ministry, and as a Campus Staff Member at Harvard Business School. In addition to overseeing the development of all professional schools ministries — which includes business, law, healthcare, religious & theological studies, government, education, social work, journalism, and the arts — John has also led numerous vocational missions and consulting projects to Southeast Asia and the Central African Republic.
Before joining InterVarsity, John consulted with the Hay Group, an international human resources consulting firm. John holds a BS from Indiana University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), and masters degrees in Theology and Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
In his free time, John enjoys hiking, travel, photography, sports (especially soccer and basketball), boating, and finding a cozy coffee shop with a good book. John is a rather enthusiastic Red Sox fan who is developing a soft spot in his heart for the Seattle Mariners.
